I gave up very soon.
The band is in terrible shape. very heavy QSB. Lots of QRN and static crashes
from storms in the area.

Lots and lots of unanswered CQs.

Was looking forward to this one too.
Never mind.

Now to look forward to Dayton next weekend.
Hope to see lots of contesters there.

WPX CW in 2 weeks too. always a high point. PRAYING FOR GOOD BANDS!

Thanks to Dave K1TTT for his hospitality and for the use of the station and to
Mike W1BX for helping out.

WX QRN from 1800Z-0300Z was very bad.
150 more QSOs than last year using the same schedule....

Very nice contest with the typical CW dominance from Russian ops. There was a
good propagation on 15m Saturday and very bad on Sunday. 10m opened Sunday but
not many stations payed attention and preferred to bet on the secure 20m. Low
bands were very difficult due to local thunderstorms. The good thing we like
about the Russian contests is the almost constant tempo with no gaps during the
night, in contracts to the most of European runs.
Thank you all for the QSOs and the fun.

I had other things going on this weekend but was able to put in a few hours
making QSOs and testing my new keyer project.

I am still looking for someone who can help answer questions about the
Ultimatic keyer, or better, who has one.

FT1000MP, Alpha 78, 1 KW, TH6DXX, dipole, inverted vee. 15 and 10 were dead
except for local, KU8E. 20, 40, and 80 were fair, although QRN was high on the
low bands. Electrical storm arrived during the night Sunday. Thanks for all
QSOs. 73, John, K4BAI.

This was a last minute remote operation from NX6T.
I spent most of my operating time in the VOLTA RTTY contest but couldn't resist
spending a little time on CW as well. Band conditions SUCKED for CQ-M so I just
played on 40 meters.
I wrote up this operation on the WQ6X Contest Blog:
