Had a few spare hours to play this afternoon.

Pointed the beam at north america and ran. Sigs were amazingly loud!
was just going to do a 20m single band entry, but decided to pick some SA off
on 15m.

Thanks for the Q's.

Fun the time i was on.

see you next time around.

20M surprisingly good to EU all day and to SA and AS in the late afternoons.

40M tough with a bunch of weak-ass callers I could not make out through some
summer band noise. I think they would've been tough even in winter.

NG7Z   SOAB LP   12,5122017-04-16 17:16:22
Icom 7300 vertical. I hadn't been able to do this contest for several years and
was looking forward to it again. The propagation was less than good at least
from my perspective. But I was happy to be heard in EU and ZL just to name a
couple. Thanks to all the ops with good ears that heard my feeble signal. 73

N2RJ   YL HP   2,0342017-04-16 17:19:02
Enjoyed giving out 10 pointers for this contest. Maybe one day I'll compete
seriously but it's fun.

I've been promoting this contest among fellow YLRL members, so hopefully there
has been some more YL participation.

With two other contests at the same time plus MIQP bands were a mess.
Very poor condx and low activity on 80 meters.
300 watts max and 2 dipoles.

XE2B   SOAB LP   18,0482017-04-16 17:34:46
It was great to contact my good friends, specially Marcelo PW2F on 3 bands.

Started late. The first PY to be heard on Saturday -15M- was PY4LH.
Sunday morning, I worked backscatter N5AW and K3ZO -my beam at 120 degrees!
Thanks for the Q's

STATION W8QZA:

Radio: Elecraft K-2, 5 Watts.

Antennas:
10-15-20 Meters: 3 el Stepp-IR up 32 feet
40 Meters: DX-LB trap dipole up 30 feet
40-80 Meters: Butternut HF-2V Vertical with 3 radials
------------------------------------------------------
Condx were poor, of course. Only 8 Qs in South America!

But this is an international contest, and my best contest Qs were A31MM, UA1CE,
and F6HKA, all on 20 M. Getting into Europe was quite a surprise for me. With
QRP from out here on the west coast, Europe has become very tough!

My DXCC was 18 compared to 51 only 2 years ago!

N1MM says my op time was only 10.2 hours, but that doesn't count all the time I
spent tuning with no Qs!!

I won #1 QRP in North America and a very nice plaque the first year that this
contest was opened up for North America. But I have never come close to doing
that since then. Ops have discovered what a great contest this is!

SA stations were very rare and the rest of the world was just rare! 40m was the
best band for contact outside Oceania.

VA7ST   SOAB HP   33,9122017-04-16 22:16:23
Managed to put in 8 hours and had a good time despite slow rates. Some surprises
including V51 and CT on 20M late Sunday afternoon long after I expected the
polar and sub-auroral paths to be dead.

Multipliers were better than I expected, but participation seemed thin on South
American stations, and few members were worked for those 10-point bonuses, which
really hurt the score.

Year over year...

WQ6X(@NX6T)   SOAB HP   129,1772017-04-16 23:19:44
This was another last minute WQ6X remote operation from NX6T
("NashVille") in Fallbrook - approx 900' above sea level. While I
dabbled in the other QSO parties happening this weekend, my main focus was the
CQMM contest.
I ran the usual Elecraft K3 into an ACOM 2000a amplifier dialed back to about
990 watts to keep things cool in the shack.
The high bands were scanned with an adroitly rotatable C-31 yagi at 13mh on
tower 1 with 2-elements on 40-meters and an inverted Vee on 80, all 14mh.
There was a LOT of atmospheric static this weekend making weak signal copy
difficult. Often a band would seem dead (like 15 meters). A CQ call beaming
South America for the contest would yield a call from V51 in Namibia - go
figure.
80 meters was a disappointment overall and Asia never materialized on 15.
The openings I used to experience on 15 meters now happen on 20 as the MUF
drops lower more quickly in the bottom of the sunspot cycle 24.
One of the nice features in this contest is the exchange - it was nice to
actually see how MANY YL's, QRP stations and Multi-OP stations were actually on
the air.

Hi, What a nice contest. I was testing with Flexradio 6700 and Maestro panel my
100 % remote set-up with SO2R and N1MM and DXLog. Between some good movies on
TV. See more at http://remotedxandcontestblog.sm0hrp.se.
Really bad conditions with almost dead 80 m and 100 % dead 15 m and above.
See you all in CQ WPX!! 73s Kari SM0HRP

Poor activity as measured by ratio of QSOs to CQs. But better activity than any
of the competing events, and few Sunday-afternoon nasty pileups on African
multipliers.

Operated about 30 minutes total. Band conditions lousy. Very few stations on,
and even fewer working MM. Unsure how to count prefixes. N1MM Pfx score was 0
but Pfx column showed 5 and Wpx showed 8. Wasn't going to log the contest but
AOCC called for reports today so here it is.
