Signals in the dumper.

My sincere apologies to Don, N4ZZ and also K3WA....for the many repeats.
I am not purposely sending AE9AA/m, nor does there seem to be -ANY- way around
the radio sending like this.

Once the temp gets much below 10*C (it's 4*C atm) the radio starts dropping
leading dits.

Maybe time to get a new mobile radio that's cold blooded.

Santa is in Arizona getting a tan, I guess. Bands seemed a bit noisy although
hard to tell operating remote. Lots of network delays and pauses; kind of
annoying and scary when I was in the middle of a QSO.

Wow. What a rush. This is my best score ever - and I was SO1R. One of my amps
faulted out just before the session, so I was using one radio/one amp. It
didn't matter because it was practically a single-band effort - 20 meters!
Also, first time I've heard or worked Hank, N8XX. Way to go, Hank. Worked many
members who I did not recall from previous CWTs. So...I hope it is catching on.
CU at 0300 - probably still SO1R :-).

Was at home today so decided to hop on. Lost 15 minutes dealing with a
"stuck" ptt during cw keying, decided to restart the PC and turned
off my remoting software since I was physically here and the issue went away.

Using the new to me Expert 1K-FA was fun. I ran a desktop program called Mini
Console by G3RXQ to have amp parameters at a glance and to control it. Much
better than the SPE provided console software in that it takes up so much less
screen space.

About 20 minutes in I realized I'd left the online real time scoring site
configured from ARRL 160. So I visited the website and noticed that I wasn't
the only one.

I found myself in a horse race with VE2FK, NW2K, and K3WA. At some points I
pulled ahead of Bill, only to have him surge ahead 40m to trounce me by 14

It's a rare treat to be able to participate in the 1900 CWT. Thanks to all for

Bert, F6HKA, today that I kept fumbling my call to him...sri, Bert; gud to hear

It was a race at the end on 40M to squeak by 40 Qs. Sure hope condx next week
are -much- better! I wish I had a way to put up a better low band antenna - it
might have helped me hear the weaker stations and make those contacts.

Even worse than 1300. I worked the three stations I managed to hear (F6HKA,
IT9MUO and UR5MM Thanks, Bert, Alf and Rudy) and nobody answered me when I
tried calling, though looking at the RBN it was't surprising. 20m was pretty
much non-existent, 40m was going off by the second and I didn't have a
transmitting antenna for 80m although I could hear some activity there(the rain
and wind caused my telescopic pole supporting a long wire to let itself down so
I brought it in to dry off!). Also, something happened to my paddle so it
wouldn't send dits properly, sorry Bert it took about four attempts to send my
number and I'm not sure it was ever right, hope I didn't hold you up too long!
