Very little time to play. The time that I was on conditions seemed ok.
Thanks for the Qs and to the PK RVG for holding the contest.

Hard work, with odd conditions. Only heard/worked one solitary VE station, and
even W's were hard work.
But, it was fun....

Thanks all for very fast test. Adrenaline reads off scale, though there were
malfunctions in equipment in the beginning and the middle of competitions, but
the test pleases year from a year.

Poor conditions but fun contest anyway. Good way to spend a cold, rainy
Saturday. The 3-500Z's kept the shack cozy.

Thanks for the Qs!

Not a serious attempt as I am dogged by RF and mechanical problems. Nice to see
so many contesters again.

Only got 3.5 hours on the air, as spring weather has finally arrived. Still
managed a personal best in this one.

Never heard Oceania or South America, so the continent count stayed at 4, and
only worked one SP station -- an indication of how poor the 20M polar path
was.

80M was empty, and 40M was pretty thin an hour or two after dark, which is
always disappointing, as that's when more time is available. The new 40M
2-element quad hanging between pine trees worked for several European Qs, which
is a good sign. Wire elements haven't yet been properly aligned, but was good to
get responses to my calls for a change.

15M wasn't as good has it has been (no Eu heard), despite rising flux.

Thanks for the Qs. Hope to be on for BARTG 75 (big fun!) and Florida QSO Party
next weekend.

Threats of severe storms loomed all weekend. As such, I only put up the
antennas for a brief period. After all was said and done, I haven't seen a
thunderstorm all weekend. It has been extremely quiet. To add insult to
injury, propogation seemed to be extremely poor when I started. I lost
ambition.

Thanks to all the ops that worked me!

Thanks to the Polish Radiovideography Club ( PK RVG ) for sponsoring the
Contest. Thanks to all who were kind enough to work me.

Took several QSOs to again get the hang of SO2R operation of the station.
There hasn't been that much time since the last contest. Must either have had
a lot of things to do between contests or getting old(er) - good chance it was
the latter:>)

During the time I had for operation, first 4 hours, only made QSOs on 15 and 20
meters. Did try 10 and heard ZS2I, but something happened to the amp. used on
10 meters. Tried just using the radio and best I could get was a "QRZ" from
ZS2I. Did spot him and hopefully others were able to make the connection.

Although did hear ZS2I coming in well above the noise floor on 10 meters, the
other bands were not a solid as they have been in recent contests or general
operation. Seemed like 15 started good at the beginning of the Contest and
about 30 minutes later 15 seemed to go into a lull. Picked up again approx. an
hour and half later. Seemed to be going okay until son and his family came for
Easter weekend.

Will have to get into the guts of the GS-35B amp. used on 10 meters and find
out what happened. Most likely something with the input circuit as the amp.
worked okay on 15 meters.

As it turned out, the weather was nice all weekend which would have made BIC
very difficult even if it wasn't Easter Weekend.

Hope all had a nice Easter. See you in the next Contest.

73,
Mike, K4GMH

First try at a RTTY test.

WØRAA   SOAB LP   32,6402011-04-24 13:22:06
Strictly a part time effort here. Beam was cranked down due to severe winds, so
used my vertical. Band conditions were lousy in my estimation. It may have
been my antenna, but not totally sure. Makes a good excuse though.

VY2LI   SOAB HP   578,3402011-04-24 15:42:56
Casual operation with lots of breaks--cottage checks, meals, hockey
playoffs, etc.Opportunity to shakedown my newly converted Alpha 374a.First
contest since sometime in February.Hope we got into your log.73,Bill

GMØFGI   SOAB HP   3,250,5902011-04-25 01:57:53
Strange conditions, struggle to work much outside EU. 10m open briefly on Sunday
morning but stations weak, only 4 contacts made and all DX (VK,UA9,UN,HS). Highs
being called by YV5AAX on 40 and 20m for 6th continent and 10m contacts.

Thanks to organisers and for all contacts.

Equipment: IC7600, ACOM 1010 300 watts
Antennas: VK2ABQ 10 15 and 20m, 40m 1/4 wave vertical ,80m full wave loop
Software N1MM

N8BJQ   SOAB HP   430,4402011-04-25 12:25:31
Not much time and lots of very bad weather. Some very loud signals, mostly from
AS and some not very loud signals as well.

AB1J   SOAB LP   50,8802011-04-25 13:18:53
Only a casual effort to pick up on some of the finer points of the N1MM logger.
I'll do the same in the Florida QP this weekend for CW and SSB. Naturally, I
didn't spend too much time reading the manual when I first set up N1MM. Now
I'm printing up the manual section by section as I need it, one dead tree after
another. There's a lot to learn to maximize use of the program.

Conditions were poor here even with SFI=115, A=5, K=1. No EUs at all on 15M
for me.

My next serious contest effort will be in the CQ WPX CW at the end of May. CU
there.

Station: FT-2000, N1MM/MMTTY on XP, dipoles, couple bottles of pale ale.

73,
Kermit (Ken), AB1J

KØFX   SOAB LP   186,4682011-04-25 14:48:19
Not much time to operate. Worked GMCCer W0RAA and
heard N0KE several times. Activity seemed down this
with few SP stations worked.

F5RD   SOAB LP   1,707,6962011-04-26 00:48:58
350 QSO's this year. I am happy! My seventh SPDX contest and the best
Good conditions on 40, 20 and 15m, but 80m was very noisy.
10m also was good, but only 16 QSO's on this band.
I must improve my antenna for this band because a simple ground plane
4m up the ground is inadequate for a good job.
Thanks to all who worked me.
F5RD Bernard

I was late getting started. But, I had some fun.

W4UK   SOAB HP   347,9912011-04-26 08:14:22
Wire dipoles only.

K8SM   SOAB HP   30,1302011-04-26 13:32:16
Condx were terrible to EU. Other than the signal from the UK area most signals
were fluttery. I thought something was wrong with my rig or antenna. I got on
mainly to check out the new narrow filter for CW/RTTY to see how it will work in
a crowded band. Only had the opportunity to check it on a couple occassions
where two or three station were close to each other.

Rig: Yaesu FT-920
Ant: Mosley Pro-57B at 60 ft
Amp: Dentron MLA-2500 at 300 watts

CU in the next one!

K7MKL   SOAB LP   11,2452011-04-28 19:08:51
Just a short operating stint after work Saturday and before work Sunday. 40
seemed very poor Sunday AM with what looked like flutter on the few Asian
stations I could hear/work.
